Justice Scalia’s death is a major issue and will impact politics and the race for the presidency. That’s for sure. But, can we just hit the pause button for 24 hours? The writing and speaking about these issues by candidates is deeply disrespectful. Let the man rest. He served our nation — whether or not we agreed with his legal views. (And I disagreed with virtually everything he wrote.) We rush to speak/write before we reflect. Justice Scalia deserves more than our immediate quips and quarrels. Stop. Reflect. Launch tomorrow or Monday. Nothing will be lost by waiting….seriously, stop writing pieces in Huff Po and guessing replacement names and demanding that the President not appoint a successor. Wait. There is something to be said for just taking a deep deep breath. Now.
