The Bishop knocked over the King.

This line about The Right Reverend Budde (Bishop) toppling our King President would be really funny (and the cartoon of this scenario is) IF it weren’t so devastating to see decent people being subjected to deportation and discriminatory practices.

There are many things that irk me about our current landscape in the US but here are two:

1. Hypocrisy, as in deportation of those who can’t fight back including children but one ignores that one’s model wife can stay despite the ridiculousness of her qualifying for a Genius visa.

Add in: We are all immigrants. The only non-Immigrants in NA are Native Americans and First Peoples, although they came from somewhere, depending on how we perceive human evolution.

2. Professing that one is a person of faith when one is mean and rude and crass while simultaneously being incapable of acknowledging others with decency and respect and grace. There is nothing worse than proclaiming righteousness when one’s own story is filled with lies and misogyny and fraud and disgrace.

Don’t get me started on my plentiful experiences with “faith abiding” folk who are narcissists incapable of empathy. It is one thing to be mean and nasty; it is quite another to be that poorly behaved when one professes to be deeply grounded in one’s faith.

Worrisome times. Hard times. Sad times. Regrettable times. Damaging times. Dangerous times. Hypocrisy and fake deep faith are two of the worst states that exist, especially when twinned.
