I actually have a children’s book coming out (March 29, 2016 — Shires Press) that meets your desires (I think). Here is a brief description of the book:
Lady Lucy’s Quest is the story of a feisty young girl who wants to become a Knight in the Middle Ages. She confronts many hurdles but ultimately finds success because she is able to solve problems in unique and unexpected ways. Through her actions and words, she demonstrates the importance of pursing one’s dreams and the power of the possible for children everywhere.
The book is illustrated by two high school students who attend the Emma Willard School. Their illustrations are extraordinary and their names are o the cover of the book — of course.
The book is a read-to book for kids 4–8 and a self-read book at 6–8. (A chapter version will be out in 2017). Boys and girls alike. A chapter version will be forthcoming for ages 7–10, without the many illustration and with different kinds of illustrations for a less picture book feel.
One key to the book is that it is a story within a story — a story of a young girl who wants to break boundaries and does. The other is the story of the illustrators who did break boundaries by illustrating a book.
Pre-publication orders will be available starting in early March thru Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, Vermont. If you need other information about the book, just call or email Shires Press: 802–362–3565, Ext. 117 email pod@northshire.com
