Books, Books, Books

So, the holidays are approaching. Meanness is in the political air. Civility is on vacation. Any solutions? Yes: reading and books.

Kids are home from school. Some families are tense. Some people are lonely. Some folks have no one to give them gifts. Some don’t look forward to the New Year.

I think books help. You can get absorbed in them. They can take you places. They can feed your soul. Words have power and evoke emotions.

Reading to and with a child is a gift that keeps on giving. Buy books. Read books. Tell stories. Laugh, smile, cry and squeal with joy with and at the characters.

I want this post to be a reminder. Books books books books books books books. They can save the day.

This holiday, I am donating books to kids and families in need. I like that. It feels like I can make a wee difference. We all can. Give a book away. Then smile ….

Books books books. Books books books. Write the word in your mind 1000 times. When feeling low or sad or alone, read a book. It will keep you company. You can find some peace and some engagement and a connection.

Lady Lucy is available for kids. Think about her. Dream about her. Enjoy her. Talk to her in your mind. She’s strong. She can help you be strong too.

Happy Reading.
