As We Enter 2025: A Five Word Positive (and I hope Useful) Message
Yes, our world is complicated and difficult. There are far too many mean people, oft-times unaware of their bad behavior. Since it is hard to create changed behavior in people (at least quickly and in some instances never), below is my 2025 five word message. I am placing it in italics (not bold or caps lest folks think I am expressing anger in today’s social media norms). I also wanted a do-able message (as much as I want world peace and good health for all), one upon which we can act.
Surround yourself with good people.
That’s it. Simple message.
So, ponder the following New Year’s hints: Don’t waste time or energy on downers or folks who are snarky, and do create boundaries with those negative folks who can’t create them on their own. Do spend time (plentiful, abundant time) with kind, giving, respectful folks who can both share and give with grace.
And, for the record, good people are not scarce. You just have to find them and add them to your existing circle of those whom you already know fit the “good” category.
Another final for the record, I count my dog Wrinkles above and my cat Apricat (featured below) as two among many good “creatures” in my life, fully aware that these two are not “people” in any traditional sense. But they count for sure!
